Weaving lavender amongst the carriages

The Northwest Carriage Museum partnered with the Willapa Valley Lavender Farm for their first Wreath & Wine Event on Dec. 6.

The Raymond museum hosted the event in its barn, and WooHoo Winery provided libations. Attendees made their own lavender wreaths with assistance from the farm’s Paul Karnatz and Paul Stazel.

“It was a lovely evening, with everyone asking when will we do it again,” said Laurie Bowman, executive director of the museum.

In September, the Northwest Carriage Museum welcomed its 75,000th visitor since opening in 2002.

Anastasia Becraft of Mukilteo walked in that day with her husband, Raymond Becraft IV, and their young daughter, Loretta. Anastasia received a gift basket containing a museum membership, a hat, a mug and a variety of other local products sold in the gift shop on-site.

“We can’t wait for No. 100,000 to visit a couple of years from now,” said museum curator Jerry Bowman.
