New Eagle Scout

Eliot Niles of Troop 36 in Raymond achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on Nov. 10. The Raymond High School senior is the son of Shawna Wilson and Josh Niles.

His Eagle project was building five picnic tables to be placed at Chinook Park in Pacific County. He completed it the day before his 18th birthday and went before his Eagle board of review a short time later.

As long as the project requirements are wrapped up before a Scout’s 18th birthday, the board can be held within a certain period after that, according to Scoutmaster Patricia Wilson.

“He’s what we call a ‘midnight Eagle,’” she joked.
