Mayri Orellana is Rotary Club’s AHS Student of the Month

Mayri Orellana is the Rotary Club’s Aberdeen High School Student of the Month for January.

Mayri is a senior at Aberdeen High School. She plans on attending Central Washington University to earn her bachelor’s degree in business. She has a grade-point average of 3.8.

She has participated in basketball for four years and was named team captain her senior year. She also participated in track and field for two years and ran cross country for two years. She is an FFA member and has been a World Class Scholar since seventh grade.

Mayri has volunteered to make and serve food for the homeless through FFA. She has spent two years as part of Outdoor School, where students volunteer as counselors for a program that takes sixth-graders to Camp Bishop for two weeks of outdoor education and experiences. She also participated in Food Ball for the Bobcats. She has made the honor roll for all four years of high school, including her first year at Grays Harbor College, where she has been a Running Start student and expects to earn her associate’s degree this year.
