Friends, parents and paranormal spirits are among the topics tackled by four one-act plays to be presented this weekend by Grays Harbor College students.

The plays will debut on GHC’s Bishop Center stage tonight at 7:30, repeating on Friday and Saturday at the same time.

Student Kristen Edwards wrote “Just Friends,” about a teenage girl named Grace who has to wrestle with a challenge on her own. The cast includes Sandy Lloyd, Analei Holt and Meg Moilanen.

“Suburban Horror Story,” written by Laura Smith, features cast members Dylan Spoor, Quentin Sotomish, Sophia Anderson and Daniel Ensley. In this play, an average suburban couple is experiencing strange occurrences in their home.

Chloe Converse is the author of “To Be A Family,” with Rhianna Moliassa and Laura Smith. This play tells the story of Emma and Nellie, who come to understand the true meaning of family.

Sophia Anderson wrote “Late Bloomer,” about the owner of a flower shop dealing with a domineering father and a news reporter with questionable motives. The players are Natasha Brown-Williams, Christopher Gunderson and McKenna Hansen.

GHC instructors Brad Duffy and Lynne Lerych are the directors.

Tickets are $5. The plays’ subject matter may not be suitable for young audiences.
