Former Hoquiam residents Bill and Penny (Stork) Waples recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 4, 1959, at the Episcopal Church in Hoquiam.

Both graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1957. Bill retired from the Federal Way Weyerhaeuser facility as the data processing systems administrator. Penny was the owner/operator of Horizon Counseling in Tacoma. They now divide their time between their home on Mason Lake and their winter residence in Green Valley, Arizona.

They have two sons, Rob of Spokane and Mike of Eugene, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of their 60 years together was held Sept. 4 at Mason Lake.
