DAR sets March 7 meeting for prospective members

The Robert Gray Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a special meeting March 7 at the Simpson Avenue Grill and Lounge in Hoquiam.

The Robert Gray Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a special meeting March 7 at the Simpson Avenue Grill and Lounge in Hoquiam.

There will be a no-host brunch at 10 a.m., followed by a meeting at 11. The brunch and meeting are open to all women 18 and older who are interested in learning about or joining DAR.

The Robert Gray Chapter was formed in 1903 and serves all of Grays Harbor County.

The meeting program will highlight the history, accomplishments and activities of the chapter and include stories of members’ patriot ancestors.

DAR membership is open to any adult woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask about the application process and available research assistance.
