Bogdanovich wins DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Award

Brooke Bogdanovich is the winner of the 2019 DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Award.

Each year, the Robert Gray Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution invites high school teachers and students throughout the county to nominate seniors for this award. The contest, created in 1934, encourages and rewards the qualities of good citizenship. The program recognizes individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities.

Once chosen as DAR Good Citizens, students are invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program by submitting a personal statement and an essay. Participation in this element is optional.

Also nominated for the 2019 DAR Good Citizens Award were Abbigail Van Blaricom (Wishkah Valley), Elizabeth Guadorrama (Lake Quinault) and Willam Shattler (North River).

On April 13, the Robert Gray Chapter hosted a celebration tea at the Polson Museum for the 2019 Good Citizens and their families. All four students received certificates and pins. As winner of the essay contest, Bogdanovich also received a check for $300.
