60th anniversary — Shirley and Donald Miller

Cosmopolis residents Shirley Ann (Dewitt) and Donald Gary Miller are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.

Cosmopolis residents Shirley Ann (Dewitt) and Donald Gary Miller are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this month.

The couple was married June 13, 1961, at the Hoquiam Baptist Church.

Don worked as a millwright at the Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill in Cosmopolis, beginning in 1959 before retiring in 2002. The company held his job for him while he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964, with most of his duty at Fairchild Airforce Base in Spokane where he served as an airplane mechanic.

After high school, Shirley worked at Sears and J.C. Penney. After receiving her LPN license from Grays Harbor College, she worked from 1974 to 2003, at Pacific Care Center, and for Dr. Fulton before retiring from Dr. H.M. Johnson’s office.

The couple has three children: Debbie Dey of Cosmopolis, Steve Miller, a resident of Montana; and Bob Miller of Port Angeles as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
