Montesano residents Jerry and Linda Charlton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on March 27, 1971, in Jerry’s hometown of Ellensburg, Washington, where Linda graduated from Central Washington University.
Jerry retired from driving tanker trucks for Pettit Oil Company and Quality Carriers. While living on the Harbor, he ran shovel and stacker for the Dahlstrom Lumber Co., Port of Grays Harbor and F G Peterson, Inc.
Linda retired from teaching at Aberdeen High School in 2014. She also drove school bus for the district; worked as a bookkeeper for Preszler, Larner and Mertz & Co. LLP; and was the comptroller for Ocean Shores Inn and Hotel Companies.
The couple has two children: Trista (Charles Jr.) Berlemann of Renton and Robert “Bob” (Alison) Charlton of Sandy, Utah; and four grandchildren.
The couple plan to celebrate later this spring in Cabo San Lucas.
