Support for Frasier

I am a staunch supporter of Erin Frasier, candidate for representative of the 19th Legislative District. Erin grew up in our community and has a solid history of serving us, both through her professional work and in the many ways that she volunteers her time.

She is an experienced leader in education, having devoted her entire career to educating our citizens. She is also very supportive of local business and other community organizations. Erin has created numerous job training programs to provide for the needs of our workers and employers, both in the region and across the entire state of Washington. She developed and taught the current Leadership Grays Harbor program offered by Greater Grays Harbor, Inc., the area’s leader in economic development.

Clear evidence of Erin’s success is documented by her work for many years at Grays Harbor College and her current work statewide with the Workforce Development Division of the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. She is respected and trusted by all of those with whom she has worked, and her integrity is beyond question.

On the other hand, Erin’s opponent, Jim Walsh, has television and radio campaign ads stating that he is for education and jobs and his opponent is not. These statements are untrue, both about himself and his opponent, Erin Frasier. I have already mentioned some of the volume of evidence that demonstrates Erin Frasier’s support of both education and jobs, a direct rebuttal of Walsh’s false claims. In addition to the erroneous information about Erin, Mr. Walsh’s voting record (Washington Votes.org) shows he voted against most of the proposed funding increases for the public school system in 2017 and 2018, except the final proposal mandated by the Supreme Court for settlement of the McCleary decision. His “no” votes included proposals for teacher pay increases, additional funding for districts, and many other education proposals to improve resources for the success of our students. He also voted against several issues related to collective bargaining. Does this record sound like someone who is “for education and jobs?”

If Mr. Walsh is misleading us about his support of education and jobs, how can we trust anything he says? Let’s limit Mr. Walsh to one term.
