Pass South Bend school bond

Pass South Bend school bond

To South Bend school supporters: You likely have now received your South Bend new elementary school bond ballots in the mail. I hope that you will take this time to vote “yes” and turn them in right away.

As you are aware, the state has provided special monies to pay for nearly 70 percent of a much-needed new elementary school. This construction will replace our 70-year-old building that is long in the tooth and definitely showing its age. This is an unbelievable gift for our kids, staff and our community — most certainly, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Good schools are vital to the welfare and continued growth of any community. Our schools have always been a source of pride for South Bend over the years. Businesses and people looking to move to a new community look at school systems as part of their decision-making process.

Our community investments in our schools can pay dividends in many different ways. Please take this time to vote “yes” for South Bend kids for another 70 years.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact South Bend Superintendent Jon Tienhaara at jtienhaa@southbendschools.org, or me at mmorris6514@gmail.com.
