A vote for unborn children

I like Jean Hagen’s letter Sept. 29 that said Trump’s done good things.

I do agree with her assessment of his tweets and name calling, and he could be a little less braggadocios.

I applaud him for his stand on unborn who have no voice. Yes Black Lives Matter, but All Lives Matter, including the unborn.

How many Martin Luther Kings or John F. Kennedys, Ronald Reagans, doctors, inventors, who, despite their beginnings, have risen to great heights, Like Dr. Ben Carson.

President Donald Trump has become a voice for the unborn.

Some say they are for a woman’s right to choose. Some of the unborn are also of the female gender. Where are their rights?

Now my story, not one I am proud of or one I like to tell.

I was a virgin at 19, had never even drunk anything stronger than a Coke, living miles from home.

A nice respectable man took me to a private club. I got drunk. He took me to his motel. When I told him I was a virgin, that made him more determined.

I became pregnant, went back home and went to a Catholic home to have my child, but they said I needed my parents’ signature.

My mother wouldn’t sign it.

“You’re having an abortion. I’ve had five or six and there’s nothing to it.”

She took me to an office building across the street from Frederick & Nelson. The office was full of young women. For $500, it was over in a short time. I still remember the sounds.

I’m now 82 years old. This was in 1957. Abortions were not legal. I also knew in my heart it was wrong. I know my God has forgiven me and there are none righteous. Not one. Forgiving oneself is harder.

I went to work at Heart & Hands, an abortion alternative for several years.
