DAN HAMMOCK | THE DAILY WORLD A perfect storm of events snarled traffic in downtown Aberdeen most of the day Monday. A malfunctioning traffic light in front of Walmart was a big part of the problem, and other lights were blinking red or yellow on both Wishkah and Heron streets. Another factor was heavier than usual holiday traffic being rerouted from eastbound Simpson Avenue on the east side of the bridge to the Port Industrial Road, squeezing two lanes of President’s Day beach traffic into one. Construction on that section of Simpson will continue through about Feb. 23.
