United States Marine Corps Retired Capt. Jim Daly talks to veterans and their families Thursday night about his trials and tribulations during his years of service and what he’s been through since he returned from fighting in Vietnam. Like thousands of other military members, he came back a changed man. Daly recently wrote a column in The Daily World about his challenges upon returning from Vietnam and how other veterans suffer in similar ways. “In Vietnam, I was wounded when I was blown off a plane and landed on my head,” Daly wrote. “But you can’t see that injury, it is only a couple of broken vertebrae and crushed cartilage. I also had to do some things that really messed with my head, and that is where the worst wounds were suffered.”
