More than 120 women showed up to 100+ Harbor Women Who Care in October 2022 and raised $14,200 for Coastal Community Action Program’s “The Walkthrough.” The event puts a large crowd inside the Hoquiam Elks Lodge — 624 K St. — to hear three still unknown nonprofits speak about their causes. Maryann Welch, one of the 10 women who organize the event, can’t wait for Tuesday’s iteration of the group’s gathering.

Grays Harbor County saw its unemployment rate rise for the fourth consecutive month to 8.8% in January, positioning the county as the seventh highest jobless rate across the state, according to new data released by the Washington Employment Securities Department. The increase is 1.2% higher than what was reported in December 2022
