Reports of heavy snow on state Route 8 between Olympia and McCleary started rolling in Monday night. Drive with care and expect delays. Traffic was backed up in both directions with multiple spin outs and vehicles in ditches. By 5:30 p.m. Monday the Washington State Patrol requested a truck with sand due to the road being all black ice.
