Wells / The Daily World The current pump station’s spot, behind the east end of Swanson’s and the west end of the Hoquiam Police Department building, which a new pump station will replace starting in the spring, was “a horrible choice, 50 years ago or 70 years ago,” according to Hoquiam City Administrator Brian Shay. The new pump station will be more inland. It won’t hang over the Hoquiam River embankment. It will help the city with flooding on Levee Street in downtown Hoquiam.
