A recreational vehicle parked on East First Street in Aberdeen is a sore sight and stench for pedestrians who walk along the sidewalk. The RV, there for an unknown period of time, has often cluttered part of the sidewalk directly to the south of it. The city of Aberdeen wants to restrict RV parking time throughout Aberdeen. In order to make sure the city is on the right side of the law, it wants to “mirror” the city of Lacey, which already has such a program in place.

Past and Present Mercantile expanded one door west and now also inhabits the former site of Waugh’s Men’s and Women’s Apparel — 110 E. Heron St. Past and Present West, as one assistant called it, offers a variety of vendor booths. One of the 14 booths inside is Junk Queens Tackle Box, which Brooke Heikkila owns. LeRoy Sisk, who owns Past and Present Mercantile, likes the fact that he can help vendors sell so many different items.

Andrea Seabert, girls camp director for Camp Victory, stands up for the right for a child to be a child. For many years she has fought for the nonprofit, which helps children who are survivors of sex abuse. Seabert’s parents instilled in her the will to help children as they too were huge childhood advocates throughout Grays Harbor County and beyond. The piece on the lectern is to simulate a campfire, because it’s one of the fun activities Camp Victory does for its survivors.
