Westport Winery wins numerous awards at annual Tri-Cities Wine Festival

Judging took place during the first week of November.

Westport Winery received a double gold, and gold, silver and bronze medals at the recent 38th annual Tri-Cities Wine Festival in Kennewick. Following is the list of awards for the winery’s Garden Resort series competition entries:

This year’s six-member professional judging panel had 426 festival entries to judge from 90 Northwest wineries. Besides entries from Washington, there were entries from wineries in Idaho, Montana and Oregon. Judging took place during the first week of November. The event culminated in the best-of-show award, which this year went to Cairdeas Winery from Lake Chelan for its 2014 Tri Red Wine Blend.

The annual Tri-Cities Wine Festival is the oldest, continuously judged wine competition in the Northwest. The 39th Tri-Cities Wine Festival is scheduled for November 11, 2017.
