Census Bureau job recruiters will hold two information sessions in the region as it looks for temporary employees for the 2020 census.
The bureau is hiring hundreds of census takers for what it calls “part of the largest peacetime labor mobilization in the United States,” recruiting about 2 million temporary employees to support the census.
The information sessions will allow candidates to ask questions about the job, which pays $17.50 an hour.
Aberdeen: Jan. 31, 1 p.m. at Aberdeen Worksource, 415 W. Wishkah St.
Raymond: Feb. 1, 10 a.m., Raymond Timberland Library, 507 Duryea St.
Candidates selected will be part of the bureau’s Nonresponse Followup Operation, which seeks to count people in person who have not responded to the census questionnaire. Census takers visit and collect information from those households.
