A First Place extends behavioral health services in Aberdeen

Cowlitz County-based company expands to Harbor.

A First Place and Great Rivers Behavioral Health Organization are pleased to announce the opening of a new behavioral health services location serving Grays Harbor County.

Last week, the Department of Social Health and Services integrated the financial administrations of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services for the state of Washington. A First Place, based in Kelso, is an outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment facility providing services in Cowlitz County since 1992, and providing mental health services since 2015.

A First Place has seen a marked improvement in the positive outcomes of clients experiencing co-occurring disorders — having both mental health and substance use disorders — who have engaged in both services. The expansion to Aberdeen offers A First Place the opportunity and unique privilege to provide these much needed behavioral health services to Grays Harbor residents.

Services will be available to individuals aged 18 and over for mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment needs. Services include assessments and intakes, individual counseling, intensive outpatient treatment and outpatient treatment, Peer support services, case management and referral services. Expanding hours and services will include youth treatment in the coming months.

Executive Director Cathy Ludahl, looks forward to providing these much-needed services for Grays Harbor County residents. For more information, the company’s website is www.afirstplace.com.
