Ascendent Demolition workers Dylan King, left, works a water hose for dust control while Jason Mellick, right, operates a shovel machine with a grapple in order to safely destroy the Grays Harbor Transportation Authority building at 300 E. Wishkah Street. The 118 1/2 address is the building’s South H Street address. Joe Munoz, center, supervised the operation, which started at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Jamie Kerlee, a demolition expert and one of the onlookers standing on the sidewalk across from the site, was impressed by how careful the crew worked. “They’re doing a good job,” said Kerlee, who has 20 years of experience in demolition work. “He’s doing the right thing. Once he gets in there, he’ll be able to get to the soft debris and concrete. Jason’s a very good operator. He’s very skilled.”
