Jose Gee, a well-known barber around Grays Harbor, is lending his artistic talents for a good cause this weekend. The haircuts will be at his barbershop, Grayspace Barbershop — 109 N. Park St., in Aberdeen. Gee will be giving out haircuts to students who range from kindergarten to 12th grade.

Adam Carter plays with Jane Sharp during Noon Tunes on Thursday at the Tinderbox Coffee Roasters in Aberdeen. Carter said he’s inspired by other musicians, so such a low-pressure environment where he can grab a caffeinated drink, a water or pop, and then play and sing with talented musicians is a real pick-me-up for him. Hoquiam Mayor Ben Winkelman and Aberdeen Mayor Doug Orr cut the ceremonial ribbon for the opening of the Fry Creek Pump Station on a drizzly Tuesday afternoon. Along with Orr and Winkelman, many other people were in attendance, including city, county and state representatives, members of the Office of Chehalis Basin, representatives from Quigg Bros, Inc., and HDR Engineering Inc.
