Aberdeen City Councilor Kacey Ann Morrison posted on Facebook several accusations toward city council candidates, current city councilors and organizations on June 19. When reached for comment twice, between Monday and Tuesday, Morrison did not respond. She did however delete the Facebook post at some point Monday afternoon after the first comment request was made.

The former Thunderbird Motel — 410 W. Wishkah St. — will fall under the city’s new vacant building maintenance program. The program will be able to issue fees to owners who do not keep their vacant buildings maintained. This includes graffiti, as well as natural elements such as algae, moss, dirt, grime, breaks in the exterior and holes. Lisa Scott, community development director, said the city is hoping the program, or code, will start by Sept. 1, or Oct. 1.

A recent cheeseburger at Rediviva — 118 E. Wishkah St., in Aberdeen. But it’s not just any cheeseburger. It’s got seven ounces of 100% Wagyu beef. It’s topped with carmelized onions, a dijon aioli and baby lettuce. The burger was served Wednesday night with mixed greens and was enjoyed immensely.

Adam Carter, a guitarist who’s lived in Aberdeen since 1987 and who fell in love with his wife in 1990, enjoyed playing curbside along West Wishkah Street. While Carter was playing covers on Wednesday during “World Music Day,” he spoke about lyrics from a song he wrote. “One of the songs I wrote was, ‘Found my way here long years ago. Drowned in my tears cause I didn’t know. God had a plan and soon his grace was applied.’”
