Mary L. Hurd

Longtime Hoquiam resident Mary Linda Hurd died Dec. 13, 2022, at Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 79.

She had been a florist, a legal secretary for attorney Charles Hyndman and a bookkeeper for Shake and Shingle Sales of Hoquiam.

The family suggests donations be made to Immanuel Baptist Church of Hoquiam or to PAWS of Grays Harbor.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam.

Arrangements are by Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Shirley A. McQuaid

Shirley Ann McQuaid died Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at Providence St. Peter Hospital.

Cremation arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Roy G. Burke

Longtime Harborite Roy Glenford Burke, age 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, in Seattle.

He had worked as a salesman in a graphic arts business.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Larry Pearson

Larry O. Pearson of Montesano died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was 95.

He had worked as a machinist at Port Machine Works and Harbor Machine before retiring in 1988.

There will be no public services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Korean War Memorial, American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Robert R. Paulsen

Longtime Ocean Shores resident Robert Ronald Paulsen died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at home. He was 78.

He had worked for the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for 30 years, retiring at age 52 and then went to work as an investment advisor for AIG Valic.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Donald Maddux officiating.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Audrey J. Turley

Audrey Jane Turley of Montesano died at home on Jan. 30, 2023. She was 93.

Cremation arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.

Susan ‘Suzie’ M. Jacobson

Montesano resident Susan “Suzie” Marie Jacobson, a former traffic safety coordinator with the Grays Harbor County Sheriffs office, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at home. She was 48.

Services are being scheduled and will be included in a full obituary in the coming days.

Arrangements are by Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

Patricia A. Lanning

Patricia Ann Lanning, a longtime resident of Hoquiam, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. She was 81.

She had been a primary grade teacher at Central and Lincoln schools and retired in 1994.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced later.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.

Donald R. Mitchell

Cosmopolis resident Donald Richard Mitchell died Nov. 28, 2022, at home. He was 74.

He had been an industrial electrician and a member of IBEW Local 76.

An urn committal service is being planned for mid-March, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Park and details will be announced in The Daily World.

Rosalie ‘Rose’ I. Blanchard

Montesano resident Rosalie “Rose” Irene Blanchard died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was 80.

Cremations arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.
