Donald George (DG) Webber passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, in Everett, Washington.

Donald George (DG) Webber passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, in Everett, Washington. He was 94 years old.

He was predeceased by his wife, Violet (Vicki) Fay Staples Webber, two of his sons Matthew George Webber and Mark Dennis Webber and one grandchild, Daniel Donovan Lightbody.

He is survived by two sons, Michael John Webber (spouse Mary) of Chehalis, Washington, Maury Franklin Webber (spouse Monique) of Everett, Washington and a daughter, Melanie Webber Lightbody (spouse Richard) of Brownsville, Oregon.

Don had four grandchildren: Victoria Laughlin, Christopher Webber, Samuel Lightbody, and Danielle-Grace Webber. He had four great-grandchildren: Josiah Laughlin, Atticus and Gideon Lightbody and Lukas Webber.

Don’s birth parents were John and Irene Ludemann Peters but he was adopted and raised by George Webber and Elizabeth Peters Cour, whom he considered his parents.

Don had two brothers and two half-sisters; John Peters and Don’s twin “Infant” Peters who died during childbirth. His two half-sisters were June Peters Wentworth and Shirley Peters Rogers.

Don was born on Oct. 26, 1924, in Portland, Oregon. He was an artist and writer. He published one book of short stories: Not So Very Strange as D.G. Webber. For many years he worked for the Aberdeen Daily World in Aberdeen, Washington where he and Vicki raised their older four children. For the preceding years before his death he lived in Glenoma and Chehalis, Washington.

There will be memorial potluck held in his honor on March 30, at noon at Don’s home in Chehalis, Washington. Please email melanie.lightbody@gmail.com for more information. The potluck will be followed by a family-only graveside service.
