Aberdeen’s newest police officer, Amy Bodenhamer, was officially sworn in on Aug. 7 by Chief Dale Green as the newest member of the Aberdeen Police Department.

Bodenhamer is a graduate of Montesano High School, Grays Harbor College, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Bodenhamer will attend the Basic Law Enforcement Academy next month as she begins her law enforcement career.

Bodenhamer is also a former Aberdeen Police Explorer, becoming the eighth former Explorer to join the Aberdeen Police Department as an officer.

“Congratulations, Officer Bodenhamer! We’re excited to have you and welcome you to the APD family,” the Aberdeen Police Department said via Facebook.
