Barbara Joanne Edinger, age 82, of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2026, in the town she proudly called home throughout her life.

Barbara was born on Oct. 4, 1943, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Wilmer and Geraldine Muller. She was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School. Although she spent a brief time living in Nevada during the mid-1960s, Barbara’s heart always belonged to Grays Harbor, where she was born and raised.

On Oct. 11, 1968, Barbara married the love of her life, James Robert Edinger, in Aberdeen. Together they built a life centered around family, friendship, and community. James preceded her in death in 2014, and Barbara will now be placed with him at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Barbara was actively involved in her community, serving as a board member for Wynoochee Wildwood and participating in the Lugnuts Car Club. She was also a faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

She found great joy in camping, attending car shows, and spending time with those she loved most. Nothing brought Barbara more happiness than being surrounded by her family. She especially treasured her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and extended family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Barbara is lovingly survived by her children; Darren (Stephanie) Ammons, Dawn (Steve) Fillo of Hoquiam, Deanna (Mark) Fountain of Soap Lake; Dia (Charles) Hood of Aberdeen; and Debra Barrett of Hoquiam; as well as Mark (Tiffani) Malone and Mike (Deanne) Malone. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Edinger; parents, Wilmer and Geraldine Muller; siblings, Walter Muller and Janice Malone; and son-in-law Richard Barrett.

Barbara will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. Her warmth, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen starting at 2 p.m.
