Verna Jane McArthur

Lifetime Aberdeen resident, Verna Jane McArthur, peacefully passed away at the age of 94. Verna was born on December 23, 1931 to Pearl Fousha McKenna (Bebich) and Harry McKenna in Aberdeen, Washington.

Verna graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1950 and Saint Peter’s School of Nursing in 1953 as a Registered Nurse.

In 1960 she married Don McArthur and they set up their household in Aberdeen.

Verna is is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann (Tim Dolan) of Vancouver, Washington, brother Stephen (Leslie) Bebich of Hoquiam and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don and her sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Jim Hliboki of Montesano.

Verna lived in Aberdeen all her life in the same home. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and shopping. She was a great mother and passionately took care of everyone in her family.

She will be missed by many surviving family and friends.

She will be laid to rest at Fern Hill Cemetery, following a small graveside service June, 17, 2026 at 1 pm. A gathering will follow at the Aberdeen Art Center.
