Timothy Raymond Costner, 65, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family and loyal pets, (Ginger and Pepper) on Aug. 12, 2025.

Timothy Raymond Costner, 65, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family and loyal pets (Ginger and Pepper), on Aug. 12, 2025. Tim was born in Guam to James and Hettie Costner in 1960.

Raised by a military family, Tim was able to explore many parts of the world as he lived in numerous different places and countries in his youth. Tim followed in his father’s military footsteps by enlisting in the Navy after graduating high school in North Carolina in 1978. He served in the United States Navy for 12 years and subsequently joined the United States Coast Guard Reserves serving an additional 13 years of service.

Tim was a jack of all trades and could often be found working on a project tinkering around and fixing something. He had many hobbies including attending Black Powder Rendezvous where he reenacted old time pioneering days. Another profound hobby of his was his active involvement in the Rock and Gem Club where he enhanced his knowledge of geology, of which he shared this love and tradition to his grandchildren. Tim loved to travel and explore all parts of the world. He could often be found on many different dance floors showing off his love for dancing. He served his community in many different volunteer organizations including the Sea Scouts, firefighting, EMT and foster parenting. His engagement with the community at large did not go unnoticed.

Tim is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary; his children: Cody, Curtis, Candice (Edmir), Brandon (Rachel), and Crystal (Dustin); his mother Hettie, sister Donna, and brother Robert, his grandchildren: Landon, James, Kinsley, Syris, Annaliese, Presley, Lilly, and Derique, whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his father James.

A memorial service will be held at Rock Harbor Church in McCleary, Washington on Aug. 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. followed by lunch reception at the McCleary VFW.

Tim will be greatly missed by all his loving family, friends and community and will live in our hearts forever.
