Kay Ann Hildebrandt Bloomingdale passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family she dearly loved, leaving a lasting legacy of unconditional love. This unconditional love has been emulated in her children and grandchildren and countless others throughout her life. She also demonstrated great strength, and compassion that touched many lives as well.
Kay was born on June 29, 1945. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to caring for others both personally and professionally. She worked as a nurse at Aberdeen Community Hospital and completed her nursing career at Harbors Home Health and Hospice. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and dedication to her patients made a lasting impact on the families and communities she served.
One of the greatest joys of Kay’s life was reconnecting with her lifelong love, Richard Bloomingdale. After more than 50 years apart, the two reunited and were married on May 13, 2022, a beautiful reminder that true love can find its way back home.
Above all else, Kay cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother whose warmth and support were felt by everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Bloomingdale; her six children, Kari Eliason and husband Alan, Susan Burlison, Stefanie Luedke and husband Jim, Kelly Sims and husband Scott, Corey Bradt and wife Kathy, and Michael Bradt and wife Corie; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life
Kay will be remembered for her caring heart, unwavering devotion to family, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her.
A celebration of Kay’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Harbors Home Health Hospice at 201 7th Street, Hoquiam, WA. 98550 in her honor.
