Donna Jean Cook, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her.

Donna was born on Jan. 3, 1949, in Atkins, Arkansas, alongside her beloved twin sister, Dorothy Dean Hinkston. She was the cherished daughter of Donald L. Hinkston and Dorothy Byers Hinkston, and grew up in a family that remained dear to her throughout her life. Her brother, Michael Lewis Hinkston, daughter Christy Clements, son James Cook, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also survive her.

Donna had a vibrant personality and a joyful spirit that drew people to her. She truly never met a stranger, making friends wherever she went with her warm smile and open heart. She had a love for excitement and entertainment, especially when it came to gambling. Whether playing bingo, trying her luck with the lottery, or visiting casinos, Donna embraced every moment with enthusiasm. Notably, she holds the distinction of being the largest winner to date at Shoalwater Bay Casino — a story she shared with pride and delight.

More than anything, Donna will be remembered for her boundless generosity. She gave freely of whatever she had, always putting others before herself. Her life was defined by compassion — she was quick to lend a helping hand whenever she saw someone in need and offered support to family, friends, and even strangers without hesitation.

Donna also had a deep love for animals, especially her four-footed companions. She had a special place in her heart for those in need, often opening her home to animals that needed care, comfort, and love.

Her kindness, laughter, and selfless spirit touched countless lives, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy, and a son Paul Cook III. She leaves behind her husband of 52+ years, a loving family, dear friends, and many whose lives were made better simply by knowing her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
