Maureen D (Mills) Ancich, 76, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend who brought warmth to everyone around her. She married Andy Ancich, in 1971. She had a deep love of family, gardening, cooking, boating, fishing, the outdoors and generously shared her knowledge about these with those around her.
Born in Longview, Washington on Sept. 13, 1949, to Loyd and Maxine Mills, Maureen was the beloved middle child. Her family moved to the Harbor when she was in second grade and she remained a lifelong resident, embracing every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. She loved her gardening, bird and wildlife watching, fishing, clamming, and enjoyed picking wild blackberries with the seasons, and her homemade pies became a cherished staple at gatherings of friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Andy of 55 years; her sister Marcia O’Dell and husband Jim of Kent, Washington; her brother Scott Mills and wife Jeanne of Vancouver, Washington; and nieces and nephews too numerous to list. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and her thoughtful cards, and gifts will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Maureen’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, at the Aberdeen Log Pavilion from noon to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Aberdeen, Washington or a donation to a charity of your choice. Please take a moment to share your memories or notes of condolence for the family at www.fernhillfuneral.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen,Washington.
