Raymond’s Freeman named league MVP after stellar sophomore season

Raymond sophomore Karsyn Freeman was named the 2B Pacific League Most Valuable Player after a spectacular 2022-23 regular season.
In her third year wearing a Seagulls uniform after starting since eighth grade, Freeman scored 23 points per game and surpassed the 1,000 point benchmark this season in helping Raymond finish in a three-way tie for the top spot in the league.
The hard-charging Raymond guard was also stellar on the defensive end, averaging 5.9 rebounds and 4.6 steals per game and led the Gulls by averaging three assists a game this season.
Raymond junior guard Kyndal Koski joined Freeman on the league’s First Team by averaging 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.6 assists per game for the 19-6 Seagulls.
Raymond freshman Kassie Koski and South Bend senior Raydynn Morley were both named to the league’s Second Team while the North Beach Hyaks won the Sportsmanship Award.
