Friday prep roundup

BOYS BASKETBALL

Chitwhins 81, Loggers 21

TAHOLAH — Taholah’s boys completed an unbeaten Coastal 1B League season by trouncing Wishkah on Friday.

The Chitwhins (10-0,15-3) recognized their five seniors at halftime in an emotional ceremony but head coach Mike Rose said his players were able to re-focus on the game.

“They got pretty emotional but they played a lot but they just had fun tonight. The seniors played more than half the game,” he said.

Zach Cain scored 15 points and Jesse Purdy 11 for the Chitwhins. Rose was proud of all his seniors, but highlighted James Bastian, who came away with 11 points and six rebounds.

Connor Tidwell had eight points for Wishkah, an exceptionally young team that wound up 0-10 in league.

The Chitwhins will now have to wait to see if they will host either Three Rivers Christian or Firm Foundation in the first round of districts on Tuesday.
