Monte’s Klinger selected to all-star football game

Recent Montesano graduate and football player Carson Klinger was selected to participate in the 24th Annual Earl Barden All-Star Football Classic at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.

The game features 80 of the state’s top high school talent from the 2A, 1A, 2B and 1B divisions.

Klinger was a standout running back for the Bulldogs and was named the 1A Evergreen League’s MVP after leading Monte to an undefeated league record and championship.

Golf tourney to benefit junior league

The Highland Golf Course will be hosting a benefit tournament at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 in hopes of raising funds for the Grays Harbor Junior Golf League.

The tournament format is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start scheduled for 9 a.m. and features cash prizes.

Registration for the event costs $65 per person and begins at 8 a.m. on the day of the event. The cost of registration includes lunch. Entrants are encouraged to contact the course to reserve a golf cart.
