PWV routs Mossyrock

Titans 52, Vikings 16

PE ELL — Max Smith broke a 47-yard touchdown run on the game’s first play from scrimmage to ignite Pe Ell-Willapa Valley past Mossyrock in a non-league game Friday at Pe Ell.

The Titans (2-1) did all their scoring in the first half against a Mossyrock club that suited up only 15 players.

“We ran the ball great,” Titan assistant coach John Peterson said. “It was really solid. It was a good game from a coaching standpoint because nobody got hurt and our (younger) kids got to play.”

Peter Hamilton rushed for 116 yards, including touchdown runs of 28 and 39 yards, to pace the Titans. Smith had a 40-yard scoring run on his only other carry of the night.

Ryan Shepherd also scored twice, on an 11-yard pass from Matt Pearson and a 35-yard interception return.

Tyson Nissell added a 3-yard scoring run while freshman Kollin Jurek broke a 45-yard TD run for PWV.

Jurek led PWV tacklers with 12 stops. Hamilton, Nissell and Luke Gerow were credited with nine tackles apiece.

The Titans travel to Toledo for another non-leaguer Friday.
