Lower Columbia decisively brought Grays Harbor College’s 22-game winning streak to a halt in an NWAC Western Division contest Saturday at the GHC gym.

Three Red Devils scored at least 20 points, led by Hayley Niles’ 25.

“We forgot to play defense today,” GHC coach Chad Allan summarized. “When shots don’t drop, you have to rely on your defense.”

Alexia Thrower topped the Chokers with 23 points.

The Chokers (10-1, 22-2) remain one game up on LCC in the Western Division race. They visit Tacoma on Wednesday.

Lower Columbia came from behind in the closing moments to turn back Grays Harbor College’s upset bid in an NWAC Western Division contest on Saturday.

Cornelius Holifield and Zach Marrotte scored 23 points apiece for the Chokers (1-10, 4-21). Further details were not reported.

The Chokers visit Tacoma on Wednesday.
