A battle of wits?

Darn I miss John Hughes — He always knew where I was going. But then he understood irony and satire which half of the people in this vicinity will never understand, which delights this 76 year old crazy old lady!

“Silly season.”? From a speech on the floor of the senate by William Dirksen during the civil rights bill “… let’a get this damn bill passed before the silly season takes over…” refering to the upcoming election. “Battle of wits”? Copped from William Shakespeare “I would challenge you to a battle of wits but I see you are unarmed.” A small jab at some of the letters-to-the editor who quote Limbaugh, Fox News et al.

Wordy little thing aren’t I?

If you engage in a battle of wits and a war of words, be sure to check your arsenal. Just a friendly little piece of advice.
