A 31-year-old Grayland man was killed Saturday morning when his car struck a power pole on Highway 105 just north of Grayland.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Jeremiah James Marsh was driving a 2006 Volvo S60 southbound at about 11 a.m. at a high rate of speed when he crossed into the northbound lane and overcorrected when attempting to re-enter the southbound lane. He lost control of his vehicle and struck a power pole on the southbound shoulder.
A truck swerved to avoid Marsh and hit a sign in the southbound shoulder. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
The highway was blocked for approximately five hours, and about 2,500 Grays Harbor PUD customers lost power between Westport and Tokeland. Power was restored to all custombers by about 9:45 p.m., according to PUD spokeswoman Liz Anderson.
