An early morning fire caused significant damage to the Galway Bay Irish Restaurant and Pub building in Ocean Shores, but fire crews stopped the blaze before it damaged much of the main pub area.
Lt. Brian Ritter with the Ocean Shores Fire Department said crews responded at about 5:22 a.m. today to find flames in the north end of the building, which was undergoing renovation. No one was in the building and no injuries were reported.
The fire destroyed part of the building, but Ritter said crews stopped it from spreading into the actual restaurant or store area. No cause was immediately available.
