The Elma Chamber of Commerce will host its fifth annual Wine and Seafood Festival from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. There will be many gift, merchandise and food booths featuring seafood and other coastal cuisine.
Presale tickets are available through Jan. 19 at Les Schwab Tire Centers in Grays Harbor, Shelton and West Olympia. You may purchase pre-sale entrance only for $5 or a package that includes entry, a keepsake wine glass and six individual wine tastings for only $15. Tickets for entrance are $8 at the door.
The event has relocated to the Satsop Business Park, 100 Technology Lane, outside of Elma. If you prefer you can park downtown or stay at the Elma Microtel Inn and catch one of the free shuttles beginning at noon. You must be 21 or older to attend.
Come sample wines from up to 25 Washington wineries including: Agate Creek Cellars, Bateaux Cellars, Chandler Reach Vineyards, Elegante’ Cellars, Heymann Winery, Madsen Family Cellars, Marchetti Wines, Masquerade Wine, Mt. St. Helens Cellars, Northwest Mountain Winery, Scatter Creek Winery, Stinas Cellars, Waving Tree Winery, Westport Winery, Widgeon Hill Winery, Stottle Winery, Hoodsport Winery, Wells Winery, Ginkgo Forest Winery, Hoover & Rufus, Kitzke Cellars, and Sorenson Cellars.
Musical entertainment kicks off noon and includes Twisted Whistle, The Band Humptulips, The Varmints & Sammy Eubanks.
• Noon to 2 p.m. — Twisted Whistle: An acoustic American fusion band comprising four artists from Portland, Ore. Together they combine hints of jazz, folk, bluegrass, hip hop, soul and Americana to create a danceable, age-friendly, high energy experience to any event.
• 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. — Humptulips: Humptulips is a country band with a twist of rock. Band members are Corey Daniels, lead vocalist, Mat Smaciarz, drums, Brian Huffstutter, rhythm guitar & vocals, Doug George, bass guitar & vocals, Jim McDowell, keys, vocal & sound, and Doug Stone, lead guitar.
• 5 to 7 p.m. – The Varmints: This group from Shelton returns to the festival this year to perform favorite classic rock hits from the ’60s and ‘70s up through today’s contemporary rock. Band members are Dave McCray, lead singer, Justin Baze, guitar, Shay Masteller, bass, Thomas Roberts, drums and Jerry Petersen, harmonica.
• 7:30 to 10 p.m. — Sammy Eubanks: Eubanks delivers a quality performance every time he takes the stage, playing a variety of blues, country and rock classics. His band consists of two veteran musicians of equal caliber, Michael Hays on drums and vocals, with Dale Lewis on bass and vocals. Eubanks has opened for artists such as Clint Black, Lee Roy Parnell, Kenny Chesney, Merle Haggard, Sawyer Brown and, most recently, B.B. King.
