Verene Marie Castleberry passed away on Jan. 25, 2019, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

Verene was born April 7, 1941, in San Francisco, California to Mabel Irene (Waite) Jenkins and Virgil Jenkins. She grew up in California.

On Jan. 23, 1959, Verene Eloped with and married Ronald Castleberry, the love of her life who survives her at the family home. They were married 60 years and were just as much in love after 60 years. Verene and Ron moved to Washington in 1970.

Verene is survived by her children, Nick (Dori) Castleberry, Penny (Bradley) Castleberry-Taylor; grandchildren, Cierra (Tanner) Martin, Braden Castleberry-Taylor, Michael Messier; great-grandchildren; Kinzley and Kylan; sister; Penny Piper. She was preceded in death by her brother Dave Jenkins who passed some years ago.

Verene was an innovator. She started Castleberry Courier Service in 1991 which her son, Nick, operates to this day.

Verene was also an animal lover. She had brought home crows, pigeons, a tortoise, a one eyed owl, snakes, squirrels to name a few. Her home was a loving zoo at times.

She will be greatly missed by many.
