Theresa Cookston, 83, a resident of Rochester and former employee at The Daily World, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at her home in Rochester.

Theresa was born on June 15, 1935, in Munich, Germany, to Joseph and Magdalena (Nohr) Felder. She was educated in Germany. On Feb. 14, 1959, Theresa married Keith C. Cookston in Ulm, Germany. He passed away in 2009. She came to America soon after she was married and then to the Harbor shortly after that.

Theresa worked for The Daily World in the Circulation Dept. for 18 years. She was also a housewife. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Feed the Hungry Team. She enjoyed gardening, reading and swimming.

She is survived by two sons: Kenneth Cookston of Rochester and Joseph (Nola) Cookston of Long Beach, California; a daughter, Hildegard Wagner of Germany; a brother, Joseph Felder of Illertisen, Germany; and three grandchildren.

She will be inurned with her husband, Keith Cookston at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, Washington.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
