Susan (Soozy) M. Bridges

Susan (Soozy) Mable Bridges passed away in Auburn on Sept. 15, 2018, after an extended illness.

Susan (Soozy) Mable Bridges passed away in Auburn on Sept. 15, 2018, after an extended illness. She was born Feb. 13, 1962, to Ilene Morgan Bridges and Dallas Britt in Raymond, Wash. She graduated in 1970 from Raymond High School. On Jan. 21, 1972, she married Toby Millican and they were later divorced. He preceded her in death in 2009.

Soozy lived and breathed rock and roll and was involved in the music scene in Seattle most of her life. She loved helping local bands get started and she was an integral part of their success. Soozy also spent three years working with the Native American inmates at the prison in Shelton.

Family and friends were very important to Soozy. She loved all the family get-togethers throughout the years. She also kept in touch with the many friends she had in Seattle and Raymond and enjoyed spending time with them. Soozy had a special bond with fairies. Loved ones would often be pleasantly surprised to find fairy dust in the cards that she gave them. Soozy was a spiritual soul and she had a strong connection with her Cowlitz Tribe, often drumming with her elders and attending tribal meeting and events.

We will always think of Soozy whenever we see the color purple, Pomeranians, cat eye glasses, Indian drums and glitter!

Soozy is survived by brothers Sonny (Kim) Bridges and Sandy Bridges; father, Dallas Britt; half-sister, Beverly Barnett; half-brothers, Brooks Britt and David Britt; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends near and far. She is preceded in death by her mother Ilene Morgan Bridges, her brother Leonard (Lenny) Bridges, her ex-husband Toby and of course, her beloved Bear who is waiting for her over the Rainbow Bridge.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Raymond Elks. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal shelter in Soozy’s name.
