Sophronia Ann (Burgess) Vessey “Annie”, 68, of Red Rock, Okla. passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Sophronia Ann (Burgess) Vessey, “Annie,” 68, of Red Rock, Okla., passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was married to Larry Robert Vessey Sr. her best friend and even more than that LOVE of her life.

She is preceded by her grandparents Mark and Iola Burgess, mother Jewell Burgess, brother Ralph Anthony Burgess, daughter Betty Ann Lancaster, son Timothy Jack Bible.

Her surviving loved ones are daughters Patricia Kay Bishop, Angela Lea Bachman, Roberta Lynn Mote, Heidi Ann Compton, sons Robert Lynn Vessey, Larry Robert Vessey Jr., Joshua Rolley Vessey, and 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and one sister Beverly McDonald and her fur baby Sissy, and many uncles and aunties.

Annie was a woman of exceptional strength of character and perseverance. She overcame personal challenges to live a wonderful life while influencing and changing the lives of many. She was a humble and compassionate person who freely gave of herself. She had many great talents and interests. She was a dedicated member of NA. She immensely loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She blessed us all in her life.

Services were held at noon Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, in the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Cultural Center in Red Rock with the Native American Church and Rev. James Kenner officiating.
