Sharon Louise McKoon, 76 years of age and a lifetime Harborite, died on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Providence Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Sharon Louise McKoon, 76 years of age and a lifetime Harborite, died on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Providence Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. She was born on Sept. 3, 1941, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Vernon Stanley and Lesta (Jarvis) Rogers.

She was raised in the Copalis Crossing area and graduated from the Moclips High School. She later attended the Grays Harbor College.

On June 6, 1961, she was married to Ronald Warren McKoon at Pacific Beach, Washington, and they made their home at Moclips, Washington.

Sharon was a teacher’s aide at Pacific Beach Elementary School for some 30 years.

Her hobbies included raising flowers, taking care of her dog, Bliss, and farm animals. Her most memorable time was when she married Ron McKoon, as well as having her children and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will long be remembered for her love of life and that she was a very hard worker in everything she did in life.

Sharon Louise McKoon is survived by her sons, David L. Ridley of Pocatello, Idaho, and Greg L. McKoon of Olympia, Washington; her daughter, Tawny L. Proulx of Lyndon, Illinois; her sister, Carol Ann Ennis of Naselle, Washington; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and other relatives. Her husband, Ronald W. McKoon, preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2003.

At her request there will be no formal funeral service. Private vault inurnment will be held in the Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam, Washington.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam, Washington.
