Ronald Glen Holm — Ron — was invited to join Arne and Barbara Holm’s family June 22, 1959. Ron initially grew up on the east side of Hoquiam but later moved to Beacon Hill, west Hoquiam, College Hill and Grays Harbor City as the family followed Arne’s construction career.

Ron worked as a carpenter for his father all through school and after, as did many of Arne’s relatives. Ron graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1978 and attended Grays Harbor Community College. He excelled at football and track at HHS. Ron would make a career of carpentry, working for several contractors in Grays Harbor, Seattle, and the San Francisco bay area.

Ron enjoyed playing golf, swimming at the YMCA, and watching football. He finished his carpenter career with the Port of Grays Harbor. He enjoyed the company of his high school friend Larry Benner and his cousin Nancy Warnken, especially during the last couple of years.

Ron passed away on Oct. 2, 2017, after battling a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arne and Barbara, and his son Andy Holm. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law from North Bend, Len and Jane Holm, his sister from Yuma, Ariz., Jackie Busse, nieces and nephews, and several additional cousins on the Ferris side of the family.
