Robert “Shorty” Remington, a lifetime South Bend resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at the Raymond Care Center; he was 95.

Robert “Shorty” Remington, a lifetime South Bend resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at the Raymond Care Center; he was 95. Robert was born in South Bend, to William and Katherine (O’Shaughnessy) Remington on June 16, 1922.

Prior to his retirement, 40 years ago, he was employed as supervisor of the line crew at the local PUD. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, a life member of the NRA and a life member of the Eagles Lodge. He was an avid fisherman. In 1991 he was preceded in death by his wife Pat.

He is survived by two daughters, Ann Rundberg of Bonney Lake and Lyn Klein of South Bend; two sons, Pete of Republic and Mike of Selah; one brother, Albert of Burien; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb 3, at the St. Lawrence Church in Raymond. Burial will follow at the Menlo Cemetery.
