Robert Gustave Holmin, also known as Jerry Lee Scott, 88 years of age and a longtime Hoquiam, Wash. resident, died on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at his Hoquiam home.

Robert Gustave Holmin, also known as Jerry Lee Scott, 88 years of age and a longtime Hoquiam, Wash. resident, died on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at his Hoquiam home. He was born on Oct. 14, 1928, in York, Penn. to Gustave Robert Holmin and Ruth Ann (Henderson) Holmin.

He was raised and attended school in the Litchfield, Minn. area. In January of 1949, he entered the service with the United States Air Force. After leaving the military he resided in Montana.

He married Patricia Ann Steel-Cassidy on March 6, 1951, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho until moving to the Hoquiam area in 1969.

He worked in shake mills, at the Half Dollar Tavern, Ocean Spray and the Hoquiam Eagles.

Robert G. Holmin is survived by his sons, Gust Holmin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Randy Holmin of Maple Valley, Calif., Don Holmin of Plains, Mont., as well as a grandson, Shawn Holmin whom he raised as one of his sons; his daughters, Candi Trader (Harry) of Aberdeen, Teresa Schrader of Omaha, Neb. and Pepper Delahanty (Mike) of Hoquiam; his brother, Delbert Holmin of Maple Grove, Minn., a sister, Phyllis Start of Fort Meyers, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Holmin, who died in 2011; by four daughters, Cindy Holmin, Babbette Holmin, Carol Christenson and Elsie Boyer; one son, Robert Holmin Jr.; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of his life and private inurnment will be held later.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam.
